“It’s crazy how I fell in love with it,” My brand new interview with Roxy.

Annnnnnd we’re back baby!!!!!! Apologies for the mental breakdown post the other day buttttt it put me in contact with some pretty cool people and I’m scheduling more interviews. Woo! Today’s interview is with Roxy, @_lmaohannah . We talk all things wrestling of course, how she fell in love, and all the things that are important to her.

All great love stories start somewhere. My most favorite thing about interviewing is hearing people’s true love and passion for this business. This interview was no different. I first asked Roxy how she got into wrestling, a moment she remembers very well.

Well I first laid my eyes on wrestling back when I was 4/5. My uncles would play video games and sometimes would watch and I’d caught glimpse of it. I always thought it was stupid because it’s “fake” so I basically just ignored it. Then I rediscovered it back when I was 11. I remember it was summer and I was bored. I can’t go out with friends because I have strict parents so I was stuck at home with my phone. I was scrolling through YouTube and a women’s wrestling match was on my recommendation. I didn’t know they let women wrestle so that made me really curious. So for an hour I just sat in my couch watching women’s wrestling and completely fell in love with it”

Finding wrestling was seemingly her destiny, and falling in love came very quick and easy.

“Not so long. Literally an hour after watching those videos on youtube I remember I whispered to my self ‘I want to be a wrestler.’ It’s really crazy how I fell in love with it and become passionate about it with just a snap.”

Trish vs Lita’s 2004 championship match, Paige’s Divas Championship victory, and several Bella Twins matches were just some of the videos she watched that led her to her discovery of women’s wrestling. Roxy has high hopes of more airtime for the women and says, “It honestly pains me to see that women are still getting 2 minute matches and some are not being used in a 2-3 hour show.” She’s definitely not alone in that thinking.

While her biggest dream is to wrestle, she’s still patiently waiting for her preferred wrestling promotion to start their bootcamps, hopefully this year. This hasn’t stopped her from dreaming about her future matches though, and she has quite the list. “I’m so down with having a Hell in a Cell match,” she says, “I have so many ideas on what I wanna do in that match.” She also aspires to become the first Filipino woman to main event wrestling’s biggest spectacle, Wrestlemania. Above all, her biggest goal is to wrestle Becky Lynch. “For me she’s really the one who pushed me into wanting to become a wrestler and the one who saved my life so to have a match with her would mean everything to me.”

We ended the interview by talking about Becky Lynch. Roxy’s favorite Lynch moment being the main event of Wrestlemania 35. “I cried when she won, I mean I cry all the time whenever she does something that gives me goosebumps but that moment just makes me feel free and makes me think that everything is possible. A lot of people throws hates on that match but it means everything to me because it opened doors for women.”

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Roxy will be facing Becky Lynch in the main event of Mania one day. Doing this interview was such a privilege, and I’m so thankful to Roxy for letting me pester her for a little while. My passion has been reignited! Depression drought is over! I have another interview dropping next week with another very very cool person, so please keep your eyes out for that! As always if you’ve read this far, thank you! Every view, rt, and share means the world. Please make sure to follow Roxy, @_lmaohannah , and wish her well on her journey.

P.S. Happy pride month to all! Very cool pride themed article coming this month 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈
