Renee Paquette: One Year Removed From Renee Young.

“I wanna give a big ‘thank you’ to WWE and the WWE Universe, you all have truly changed my life so, thank you.”

- Renee Young. August 23, 2020

August 23, 2020. Summerslam. The Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. After a trailblazing eight years with WWE, Renee Young performed her final kickoff show in the company. She left with her head held high in a blaze of glory, praise and admiration flying at her every which way. Three hundred sixty-five days later and she’s proved to be very successful at forging her own path. She always has been. Since leaving WWE, the sky has seemingly been the limit for Renee. Watching her step back into being Renee Paquette, has been nothing but a treat for all her fans. Her wildly successful podcast has topped charts and made headlines, and her bestselling cookbook has people all over the world running to their kitchens. The significance of what Young did in WWE cannot be understated. She truly was the first woman in that role to do what she did. Watching her thrive and make these huge strides outside of the ring was the coolest thing in the world. But her sheer brilliance and raw talent is shining through even more these days.

One of the first big moves Renee made in her post-WWE life was her entrance into the podcast world. Through Oral Sessions, Renee has proven herself yet again to be a scintillating conversationalist, and a glorious host. This truly seems like the best work she’s ever done, and her radiant smile tells how much fun she has doing it. Her passion and love for talking to and learning about people is everything anyone would want in an interview. In classic Renee fashion, she stands being a light and inspiration for anyone looking to make their way into that kind of work. For me, every episode further lights that spark in me that’s just waiting to burst out into the broadcasting/hosting/interview scene. The spark that was originally put in me because of Renee. The seventy interviews and counting have fans waiting every week for the new episode drops. In a wrestling world where the “forbidden door” is constantly being broken down, Renee does it every episode, twice a week. Everyone from world renowned wrestlers to comedians have jumped on the show, and the broad range of guests further shows Renee’s talent, and keeps fans waiting for the new episodes every week.

In addition to the podcast, Renee also dropped her highly anticipated cookbook, Messy in the Kitchen. The online reviews have been wildly positive, and many fans are finding themselves in the kitchen for the first time experimenting with her dishes and drinks. Her personality shines bright through the unique recipes and the clever “not so professional tips.”

Between the cookbook and the podcast (oh and the baby she just had!), Renee has not skipped a beat, and with her no-compete clause coming to a close very soon, all eyes are waiting to she what she triumphs onto next. Watching her the past year has been such a great time, and I’m constantly becoming more and more inspired by her. With a live Oral Sessions taping coming up, and the big things she has said to have coming up, she’s bound to become even more must-see.
