GCW’s Tournament of Survival 7 featured Cole Radrick, Hoodfoot, Drew Parker, Rina Yamashita, Matt Tremont, Shane Mercer, Slade, and Toru Sugiura. All eight competitors gave it all they had but ultimately, Drew Parker walked away winner of ToS 7.
This was the first ToS I’ve ever watched live. This past week I went back and watched whatever old ToS content I could find but it didn’t compare to the excitement of watching it in real time (still kicking myself for not being able to make the trip). Every single match delivered and I truly couldn’t pick someone to win the whole thing. I’m not used to entire tournaments happening in one night, and I sat in awe the entire show at how each competitor who advanced pass the first round continued to put on an outstanding showing. In addition to watching past ToS matches I also watched matches from every competitor, and ended up rooting for all of them at different points. Man I love wrestling.
And of course a round of applause for the big winner. *You better be fucking applauding* What an absolute star Drew Parker is. One of my followers and fellow writers, Hogan Torah, told me before the show that tonight Parker becomes a legend and shows the world how good he is. Hogan Torah was right. Five days ago we didn’t even know if Parker would make it to the show. Well folks he made it all right. His match with Cole Radrick in the opening round was probably one of my favorites of the night. And the excitement and energy surrounding the final match between him and Tremont gave me a high I can ride until at least Monday.
ToS 7 was a chaotic masterpiece and anyone who hasn’t watched it yet is highly encouraged to do so. Right now. I’m serious. This was another show that just added to the magnitude of GCW. I say this at then end of every GCW article, but they’ve truly built up something so insanely special and it was so evident tonight.
