Every spring, fans from all over come together for Wrestlemania. It’s one of the coolest things about wrestling. Casual fans, hardcore fans, life long fans, new fans… everyone tunes into the show of shows. This year was no different. Over 70,000 fans gathered at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, and millions watched from home. All united under one thing: wrestling.
Wrestlemania Night 1 had everything. A title change, a surprise (sort of) return, a legend appearance, off the charts entrances and gears. Night one delivered in almost every aspect.
Of course one of the biggest moments of the night was the returning Cody Rhodes. While fans knew it was coming, it was still a shock to hear his music hit. He and Seth Rollins put on a pretty solid match as well. Everyone’s clambering to see what the former AEW star does next.
Wrestlemania also came with some feel-good moments through Bianca Belair and Kevin Owens. Belair defeated Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship to become the first African American to hold both the Smackdown and Raw Women’s titles. This was Belair’s second Wrestlemania win in a row. As for Kevin Owens, he got to main event the show with one of his favorite wrestlers and hall of famer, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Stone Cold coming back for one last match was extremely nostalgic, but fans were also filled with great emotion for Owens.
Overall, Night 1 was fun and was a great start to Wrestlemania. Just like every year, it gave fans moments they’ll remember forever. Night 2 will feature the main event of Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar, winner takes all. Just as many eyes will be on Night 2 as they were Night 1.
